Who We Are: Spruce Hill Lodge is a non-profit, charitable organization located in the former Porcupine General Hospital Building in South Porcupine, Ontario - a district of the City of Timmins. Incorporated in August 1997, we are the only non-profit independent living facility for seniors in the North. Spruce Hill Lodge opened its doors on June 6th, 1998. Our goal is to continue expanding this facility by providing services and activities, and by building partnerships within the community. What We Do: Mandate: Our Mandate is to provide affordable accommodations in a friendly, safe and supportive atmosphere to a community of senior citizens wishing to live independently. Mission Statement: "We provide quality living for seniors in our community." Where We Are Located: Spruce Hill Lodge is located in a park like setting off Highway 101 East, at 200 Bruce Avenue West in South Porcupine. The lodge is perched on top of a hill overlooking South Porcupine to the east and is surrounded by green fields and scenic woods along the north and west sides. The main entrance is up the hill on the North-west side of the building, and is located in the newest expansion to the facility which was constructed in 1991. The application process that follows involves a formal interview process with our administration staff in order to ensure that you would be comfortable in the environment that we provide. Resident Involvement: Spruce Hill Lodge understands the importance of independent living in our facility; therefore resident volunteers are always welcomed to assist in all aspects of the facility if so desired.
